I found CrossFit on my first deployment to Iraq & was skeptical at first. My friends & I would follow the crossfit.com workouts whenever we had free time, but had no idea of intensity or how to do the movements well. Once back from deployment & on a regular schedule, we took time to study the movements & research more about CrossFit & was immediately hooked. I loved the idea of the training & making a person good at all aspects of fitness (weightlifting, gymnastics, and endurance) & not an expert at one. That was the same way I took my training as a Soldier.

Once I left the Army in 2013, I decided that I wanted to continue to help others achieve their goals through fitness. I received my CrossFit Level 1 and USA Sports & Performance certification & began coaching at various gyms around the area. Throughout my years of coaching, I have tried many programs/training methods & implemented these practices into my own programming. My main goal while coaching/training an athlete is perfect movement. As CrossFit says "TECHNIQUE, CONSISTENCY AND THEN INTENSITY!"

I started CrossFit shortly after Bryan and I started dating. At the time, I was a runner and going on training runs five days a week and light lifting two days. The running was starting to take a toll on my body so I was worried what CrossFit would do, but knew I couldn't continue running as much as I had been. I was also extremely intimidated walking in on day one, unsure where to start with weights, movements, with everything! After a couple classes, I was hooked! I started to realize that the decrease in miles a week and increase in lifting was greatly benefiting my body. Today, I have not only grown stronger, but have found a true love for sharing what CrossFit can do for everyone! I love seeing the changes in people from day one to their one year mark!

My journey in the fitness industry began at a young age with youth sports. I continued with sports all the way up into college. When college was over, I turned to coaching at the youth and high school levels. But as satisfying as that was, something was still missing. I signed up for my level 1 seminar in March 2010 over an hour away in southwestern CT. After the weekend, I immediately became a student of CrossFit. I could not get enough! I started to shadow and assist a USA Olympic lifting certified coach who was also a Level 1 CrossFit coach.  I helped him start a successful CrossFit and help mold his coaching staff. In March 2013 I was approached by a colleague who owned a gym in Boston and was looking to open a box. I came into the gym with only about 40 members and was given managerial, programming & overall control.  Within 6 months the box had 150 members! After 4+ years of coaching CrossFit and 16 years of coaching competitive sports and starting and maintaining two successful boxes for other people, it was time to do it for myself!

CrossFit is not a part time or full time job. It is my life. I love all of my athletes and love sharing my knowledge with them and helping them reach and surpass their goals!
